Tasting Notes- Honey, Nectar and Ripe Pineapple
This honey process San Roque coffee comes to us from El Greco Farm one of the members of The Farmers Project Costa Rica and is a direct trade relationship. The Farmers Project was founded by Jonathan Jost and Marianella Baez Jost of Cafe Con Amor. When they gave up their corporate jobs to follow their passion as coffee farmers in Costa Rica, they were struck by how hard local farmers worked, only to sell their coffee for prices that could not sustain the most basic lifestyle.
The Farmers Project was started to help local farmers in Costa Rica sell their coffee for a fair price to support their workers, their farms, and their families. Sharing this vision, farmers could learn from one another, share best practices, and export their specialty coffee together.
The El Greco Farm is located near the Poás Volcano in the town of Grecia. The rich volcanic soil lends itself to lush fields of sugar cane and of course coffee. The farm has been in the Oviedo family for over 50 years and Rodrigo a third generation coffee farmer is using innovation to produce a unique cup that will warm your soul. We are very excited to be partnered with the Farmers Project Costa Rica and the Oviedo family to bring you this beautiful coffee.
